Mercy remembered she needed to call Dayo. She pulled out her phone from her handbag, searched for his name and dialled the number.
He answered it on the third ring.
After exchanging pleasantries, she told him why she had called.
“That’s okay.” Dayo said. “There’s no hurry about it. I can come to your place to check them at any time.”
“Okay … or better still, on Friday. Will you be around on Friday for the naming ceremony of Pastor Femi’s twins?”
“Yes. That’s fine.”
“I’ll see you on Friday then.” She confirmed.
“Yes. Have a safe journey.” He said.
“Thanks. Have a lovely day. Bye.”
After pressing End, she realised she had a message on e-mail. She tapped on the icon and saw that it was from Joy, the girl she met at the Crowthers’ house yesterday evening.
She opened it and read.
One of the girls in my department said that I need to have sexual experience before marriage. I let her know that I am a Christian and the Bible condemns premarital sex but she insists that I need to have the experience to be able to satisfy my husband when I get married. Is that true?
Mercy exclaimed, “Oh my God!”
Fidelis glanced at her. “What is it?”
“It’s the e-mail that a girl sent to me.” She said and told him what the girl had written about.
Fidelis smiled and said, “But that’s not true.”
“It’s not true!” Mercy confirmed. “I have to reply her right away.”
Immediately, she began to type her reply.
IT IS NOT TRUE! You don’t need to have sexual experience before marriage to be able to satisfy your husband when you get married. The bible is right and that girl is VEEERY wrong. She obviously doesn’t know God or His ways. (Matthew 22:29) You will need to stay away from such a person. Bad friends corrupt good morals.
As I tell all of you girls in church, be close to your mothers and discuss issues like this with them. I am glad you got in touch with me but I would want you to talk to your mother as well. Sex before marriage is one of satan’s lies to deceive people. Read these Scriptures:
1) Let marriage be held in honour among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous. (Hebrews 13:4)
2) Flee from sexual immorality … Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body. (1Corinthians 6:18-20)
3) For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality; (1Thessalonians 4:3)
4) You need to ‘awake to righteousness, and do not sin; for some do not have the knowledge of God.’ (ICorinthians 15:34 NKJV)
5) But sexual immorality and all impurity or covetousness must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints. (Ephesians 5:3)
6) Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral … will inherit the kingdom of God. (1Corinthians 6:9-10)
It is unfortunate that the girl in your school believes that lie. She must have heard it from some people, books, movies, and dubious role models without bothering to search for the truth. Having sex when you are not married will mess up your life. It could result in pregnancy; bring about AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases which are very real and destructive.
Don’t believe your friends, believe God and His words. You DO NOT need sexual experience. There is no need and there is no Scriptural backing for it. There is a time for everything. When you get married, you will know all that you need to know.
She hit the Send button and her reply was sent to the girl. After that, she went on Facebook and accepted Dayo’s friend request.
