DIVINE INSTRUCTIONS to live by

( 288) Get godly counsel when in doubt.
In the novel I’LL TAKE YOU THERE, I wrote:
Debra told Tundun. “There are men who are scouting around for rich ladies. Five of them may propose to a rich lady at the same time, and some of them will do anything to get her. It’s not because they love her; it’s for her money.”
Lord, have mercy, Tundun thought.
“And some of these men are in churches.”
Tundun took a deep breath.
“Some men are users.” Debra added. “I know a lady who married such a man because she felt that God wanted her to. After helping him to rise, he abandoned her, married a younger woman, and still claimed to be a Christian. These things happen. I don’t want you to get hurt.”
Feeling troubled and confused, Tundun sighed and decided to see her pastor. And she was properly counselled and prayed for.Some decisions are not easy to make alone. At such times, seek godly counsel from someone who knows the mind and ways of God.
The Bible says a lot about the importance of godly counsel and the following verses are just some of them.
Proverbs 11:14 ESV Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety.
Proverbs 24:6 ESV
For by wise guidance you can wage your war, and in abundance of counselors there is victory.
Proverbs 12:15 ESV
The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man listens to advice.
Proverbs 19:20 ESV
Listen to advice and accept instruction, that you may gain wisdom in the future.
Proverbs 20:18 ESV
Plans are established by counsel; by wise guidance wage war.
