Your husband is hurt when you refuse to assist financially

The heart of her husband safely trusts her, so he will have no lack of gain. (Proverbs 31:11) (NKJV)
There is nothing wrong with a wife assisting her husband financially if she is in a position to do so.
A woman should be an asset to her husband, not a liability. She should work or do business if she is in good health and her husband permits it so that things can be easier for the family.
I learnt about a man who, while he was selling his car to pay the children’s school fees, the wife was arranging for a loan from her office to buy a car for herself. Of course, her husband was not aware of her loan and was very upset when he learnt of it.
Don’t think the expenses in the family are solely ‘his responsibilities’, the expenses are actually ‘our (joint) responsibilities’.
Think of how you may be of help and bring relief to him.
Some men don’t need their wives’ financial assistance but others do. If your husband needs your support, don’t compare yourself with other people; give him your support. If he is paying school fees, you may help out with the feeding and clothing of the children.
