DIVINE INSTRUCTIONS to live by
(By: Pastor Taiwo Iredele Odubiyi)
(222 ) Rejoice with those who rejoice even if you’re still trusting God for your own miracle
The Bible says in Romans 12:15 – Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.
To comfort and mourn with those who mourn might not be difficult to do, but to rejoice with those who rejoice especially when you’re still trusting God for the same blessing can be a little challenging.
For example, you’re in your 30s and still trusting God for marriage, and then your young neighbour or niece announces that she’s getting married soon. Some people may find this kind of situation difficult to handle.
However, to rejoice with them is what God wants you to do.
In the novel OH BABY!, Tammy, a pastor’s wife, had been married for 7 years but was still trusting God for a child.
At a time, she told her husband that she wasn’t going to attend naming ceremonies in the church again but he had encouraged her to keep going.
“If you stop attending, people will easily know why and that’s not good for your image. Besides, when you attend naming ceremonies, you’re sowing a seed for your own miracle.” He had reasoned with her.
After that, she continued attending naming ceremonies, with gifts for the families. She made the right decision.
When you rejoice with the people who seem to have what you have not been able to get, you’re sowing a seed for your own miracle as I wrote in the novel.
The problem is that people usually compare themselves to others, they wonder why others are getting more than them, and they become upset.
God doesn’t want you to compare yourself or worry about what others are getting. You should rejoice with them, be grateful to God for what you have, and put your trust in God. God is good and He will grant your heart’s desire.
Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!
Philippians 4:4 NKJV
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7 NKJV
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Romans 15:13 NKJV
I pray this year brings everything that will make you smile in Jesus name.
