DIVINE INSTRUCTIONS to live by

(219 ) Be happy to be peculiar. Don’t think that something must be wrong with you.
In the novel You Found Me I wrote:
“So, do you have a girlfriend?” Ann asked Sam, smiling.
Surprised, he laughed, then looked at her for several seconds before he asked, “Why did you ask?”
Laughing, she shrugged, “It’s just a question.”
Still laughing, he said, “Well … no.”
She looked surprised. “Why not?”
He laughed again. “Must I?”
“Well, it’s a normal thing, especially for a cool and handsome guy like you. In fact, people would think something was wrong should they discover that someone like you didn’t have a girlfriend.”
He chuckled. “Well, I’m sorry to disappoint you. I don’t have a girlfriend and there’s nothing wrong with me.”
“That’s strange.” Her gaze studied his face.
“It’s not. Besides, these things are a little different for Christians. They have to pray first, to be sure of who the right person is. Then they go into dating, then courtship, followed by engagement, and then marriage. So, it’s not really a case of girlfriend and boyfriend. It’s much more than that.”
The following are some of the Scriptures that encourage us to be different and stand for God.
Romans 12:2 ESV
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
Therefore “Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.” “I will be a Father to you, And you shall be My sons and daughters, Says the Lord Almighty.”
II Corinthians 6:17-18 NKJV
But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
I Peter 2:9 NKJV
If you have been standing for righteousness and truth, don’t change.
Don’t think it strange that worldly people hate you, and don’t let them tell you that something is wrong with you.
You are in the world but not of the world – don’t try to fit in. Be happy to be peculiar.
I pray this year brings everything that will make you smile in Jesus name.
