DIVINE INSTRUCTIONS to live by

( 207) Some of the things that a married man / Pastor needs to know and do to avoid sexual sin.
In the novel THE FOREVER KIND OF LOVE, I wrote:
The G.O spoke again. “I need to also say that sometimes it is the pastor who pursues and seduces. The sexual temptation arises from within him and the woman becomes the victim.”
When some people laughed and murmured, he said, “Oh yes, it happens as well … where the man of God is greatly drawn to a lady even though he is married. A foolish one tells himself, ‘No one will ever know.’ King David in the Bible is an example and he suffered the consequences. Run away from sin. It has the power to keep you longer than you wanted to stay and farther than you wanted to go. It will mess you up. It can cost you everything you’ve laboured for and render you useless. Now, it’s important that you get these things right now so you will not fall in future. Let’s turn our Bibles to Proverbs 5, and read from verse one.”
Someone stood and began to read.
My son, attend unto my wisdom and bow thine ear to my understanding. That thou mayest regard discretion and that thy lips may keep knowledge. For the lips of a strange woman drop as an honeycomb, and her mouth is smoother than oil. But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword. Her feet go down to death, her steps take hold on hell.
The whole chapter was read and the man sat down.
The G.O. told them, “This chapter of the Scripture warns you about her and also gives the remedy. Here are some of the things you need to know and do to avoid sexual sin. One, drink water from your own cistern. This means that you should satisfy yourself with your wife and with no one else.”
The people were taking notes.
“Two, acquire wisdom through prayer, reading the word of God, and being teachable. The book of Proverbs talks about the importance of wisdom and encourages people to get it. We must seek wisdom and love it.”
“Three, discuss things with your wife. And if you’re feeling attracted to another woman, confess to your wife, she can help you. But if for any reason you cannot tell her, then come to me please.”
“Four, if you’ve noticed, I don’t hug women. It’s not that I can’t but I’ve simply chosen not to. Call me old-fashioned, fine. I’d rather avoid trouble and scandal than try to become popular with women. I can hug children and elderly people. Other than that, I keep my hands to myself.”
Some of the people laughed again.
He laughed and said, “It’s true. Another thing I do is that I involve my wife in counselling women as much as possible. I realised that she’s able to pick up on things that I don’t and this has kept me out of trouble a number of times. Er, how many points so far?”
“Five.” The people chorused.
“I’ll give you two more….”
