DIVINE INSTRUCTIONS to live by, in Year 2020

( 29) Pray for your nation and the leaders.

In Jeremiah 29:7, God asked Jeremiah to tell the people, “Seek the peace of the city where I have caused you to be … and pray to the Lord for it; for in its peace you will have peace.”
Jeremiah 29:7 NKJV

If you have been wondering – why should I pray for this country and the leaders? What’s in it for me?

That verse reveals the answer – in the peace of the nation you will find peace.

In other words, by praying for the nation, you’re praying for yourself and family. If things go well with the nation, your interests will be promoted and you’ll prosper.

How then should you pray?

Pray to the Lord God for the peace, safety and prosperity of the nation, pray for divine intervention, and that God’s purpose will be done, in the name of Jesus.

No matter your situation and location, it’s God’s will that you pray for the peace of the nation and community in which you live.

To get nations back on their feet, we must first get down on our knees – (Billy Graham)

Scriptures:

2 Chronicles 7:14 “If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

1 Timothy 2:1-2 “I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.”

Matthew 6:9-13 “This, then, is how you should pray: “‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name, Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.”

I pray this year brings everything that will make you smile in Jesus name.
