DIVINE INSTRUCTIONS to live by, in Year 2020
(25 ) When you pray, do not be like the hypocrites.
Jesus said, “And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward.” (Matthew 6:5)
Hypocrites are people who pretend to be what they are not, and in the above scripture, these people pray so that others can see them and think that they are close to God.
They pray out loud publicly, just to be seen, and heard by people, but their motives are wrong.
They do what they do in order to be praised by people, and Jesus said that the praise of men is all they will get.
God does not answer such prayers as they are empty. Only a show off.
Prayer is good and God wants His children to pray, but don’t do it to show off. When you pray, let God be your focus. Do it in order to have a divine intervention in situations, and to have fellowship with God.
Jeremiah 29:12 ESV
Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will hear you.
Psalm 145:18-19 ESV
The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth. He fulfills the desire of those who fear Him; He also hears their cry and saves them.
I pray this year brings everything that will make you smile in Jesus name.
