Someone asked me this question:
I have a question ooo, Pastor. Someone told me that as a Christian I should not have a Nickname if I want to make heaven. How true is this ma?
My response (Pastor Taiwo Odubiyi)
That’s not true.
However, a Christian should not have a nickname that does not make sense or honour God.
God must be honoured in all that we do.
I will add that a nickname that has ‘sexy’ attached to it is not a good idea for a child of God – such as ‘Lizzysexy’.
‘Sexy’ is more about your body, drawing attention to your body, and it makes the person appear to be a sex kitten.
It says nothing about who you are in Christ or that God is in you.
And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
Colossians 3:17 KJV
Don’t use sexy to describe yourself being a Christian.
And don’t use sexy to describe a Christian lady.
It’s carnal and of the flesh.
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. (Philippians 4:8)
