In Luke 2, we read how Caesar Augustus decreed that the entire world should be registered. In response to this, Joseph and a pregnant Mary travelled from Galilee to Bethlehem to be registered. While they were there, Mary gave birth to Jesus.
Was this a mere coincidence? Absolutely not. Several years earlier, the prophet Micah had foretold that the Messiah would be born in Bethlehem.
Joseph and Mary might not have realised it at the time, but their journey to Bethlehem was divinely orchestrated.
Even the circumstances of Jesus’ birth were no accident. The Bible tells us there was no room for them in the inn, so Mary laid baby Jesus in a manger. If God had wanted Jesus to be born in a more comfortable place, He could have arranged it.
But God chose the manger so that Jesus would be accessible to everyone.
I pray that the Lord will grant you the grace to fully trust and surrender to His plans. And that your heart and actions align with His divine purpose for your life, in Jesus name.
