Why should rape be reported?

Many people are suffering in silence, keeping quiet about their rape or sexual assault.

Here are 5 reasons why rape should be reported:

It should be reported so that:

1) the victim can get help and medical treatment to prevent sexually transmitted diseases, unwanted pregnancy, etc.

2) the victim can get therapy and counselling.
All kinds of thoughts and emotions will be going on in the mind of the victim and most of them are destructive. If she doesn’t tell anyone, those negative thoughts and emotions continue to grow and eventually bind her.
Some female victims may hate all men, some may decide never to marry, some may marry but are frigid and the marriage runs into trouble.

The Bible says – Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
2 Corinthians 10:5 KJV

Caution:
A note of caution is necessary here. It is not everybody you should share the bad experience with. You have to carefully select people to confide in. Only mature, godly, experienced people, those who you trust and who can help you overcome the trauma of rape should be told.

3) Rape should also be reported so that the rapist can be stopped and also get helped.

4) So that you can be protected from further attacks from the rapist, especially if this bad person lives in the same house with you.

5) So that other girls can be protected as well.
