DIVINE INSTRUCTIONS to live by
(By: Pastor Taiwo Iredele Odubiyi)
( 101) Lead with the fear of God wherever you’re a leader.
For a bishop (leader) must be blameless, as a steward of God, not self-willed, not quick-tempered, not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for money,
but hospitable, a lover of what is good, sober-minded, just, holy, self-controlled,
holding fast the faithful word as he has been taught, that he may be able, by sound doctrine, both to exhort and convict those who contradict.
Titus 1:7-9 NKJV
In my novel IN LOVE FOR US, Ben was a good boss who knew how to be firm and strict when he had to be. He was also reasonable, generous, and ready to listen to his staff.
Because he was young, handsome, single, and successful. Some of his female staff were having romantic thoughts concerning him, trying to work their way into his heart.
However, Ben was a committed Christian and he had a way of handling such ladies without taking advantage of them or causing bad feelings.
King David said in II Samuel 23:3-4 NKJV- The God of Israel said, The Rock of Israel spoke to me: ‘He who rules over men must be just, Ruling in the fear of God.
And he shall be like the light of the morning when the sun rises, A morning without clouds, Like the tender grass springing out of the earth, By clear shining after rain.’
When a leader fears God, people are blessed.
Do you rule with the fear of God or do you take advantage of the less privileged?
Proverbs 20:28 ESV
Steadfast love and faithfulness preserve the king, and by steadfast love his throne is upheld.
Titus 2:7 ESV
