DIVINE INSTRUCTIONS to live by

(66) It’s not enough to confess your sins, you must forsake them.
This is what God wants you to do, and He has given several instructions that sins and sinful ways should be forsaken, in order to enjoy His mercy and grace.
To forsake is to turn away from or desert.
You cannot continue in sin or do it again whenever you have the urge and expect grace to abound. (Romans 6:1)
If necessary, you should put things in place in your life that will help you avoid committing the sin again.

PROVERBS 28:13
He who covers his sins shall not prosper: but whoever confesses and forsakes them shall have mercy.
2 CHRONICLES 7:14
If My people, who are called by My name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
ISAIAH 1:16
16 Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before My eyes; cease to do evil.
ISAIAH 55:7
7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return to the LORD, and He will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.
