DIVINE INSTRUCTIONS to live by, in Year 2020
(36 ) It is better to marry than to burn with lust.
Sex was God’s idea and He ordained it for pleasure, intimacy, and procreation in marriage.
Premarital sex is sex before marriage. The Bible calls it fornication and says it’s a sin before God.
God’s will is clear, “Flee from sexual immorality … honour God with your bodies.” (1 Corinthians 6:18, 20)
Once married, sex becomes right.
But because of the temptation to sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband.
1 Corinthians 7:2 ESV
But if they cannot exercise self-control, they should marry. For it is better to marry than to burn with passion.
1 Corinthians 7:9
In other words, it’s better to marry than to be consumed by unfulfilled desire that can lead to sin.
The fact that you’re engaged or love each other does not make sexual activities before marriage right.
This is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each one of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor, not in the passion of lust like the Gentiles who do not know God;
1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 ESV
